In the long-term history of the DFV 08, a number of other sports were played – in addition to football: handball (men) 1924-69, handball (women) 1925-29, walking 1920s, boxing 1957-70, table tennis 1957-66, pool billiards 1980-88 (?) and Rugby 2000-02 (?). In 1995, a football team was organized alongside a basketball club from Šiauliai. This year, it was not only due to the early elimination of the national team that this was stuck in the beginning, because in addition to individual television consumption, group experiences are back in fashion. After a merger with BTLV Rheinland 06 in 1974, the club was named Essener Sport-gemeinschaft 99/06 e. In the second relegation round against SV Heimstetten, the WFV won the second leg on their own ground 2-1, but missed qualification for the fourth division after a 0-1 defeat in the first leg due to the away goals rule. After the Second World War, the club joined CAM Timișoara. Chinezul Timișoara was founded in 1910 by railway workers in Timișoara. After the last championship, Chinezul faced financial difficulties and a leadership crisis.

Chinezul Timișoara was a Romanian football club from Timișoara. In August 1936, Chinezul merged with ILSA Timișoara. After the First World War, Chinezul became Romanian football champions six times in a row (1922 to 1927) – a record that was only broken by Steaua Bucharest in 1998. He then became Romanian football champion six times in a row. Only since 1949 in the GDR with the introduction of the GDR Oberliga and since 1963 in the Federal Republic with the introduction of the Bundesliga has the German football champion been played in a nationwide league. After a stint at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Ali Camdali moved to the Turkish Süper Lig. Ali Camdali – The midfielder began his career at a young age with Duisburg FV 08 before moving to the youth team of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach. Oliver Adler – The goalkeeper started playing football at Duisburg FV 08 before moving to Schwarz-Weiß Essen in 1990. For the 2012/2013 season, Duisburg FV 08 hired coach Salvatore Campanella. For the 2016/2017 season, the 08ers hired Berkant Serifoski, who has been working in their own youth work for many years, as coach of the first men's team.

Coach Serifoski then retired and the club hired Dirk Pusch as his successor. The club was founded in 1910 as Temesvári Kinizsi Sport Egyesület. The club was named after the Hungarian general Pál Kinizsi (in Romanian Pavel Chinezul). After the Hungarian Temesvár was transferred to Romania after the First World War, the club was named Chinezul Timișoara. President Cornel Lazăr then withdrew and founded the professional players' club Ripensia Timișoara. In 2011, Adler briefly worked as an interim coach at his old club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. In the summer of 2019, they became champions of the district league A (Group 1), and with two wins in the relegation games against TV Voerde, the champions of the parallel group, they achieved the longed-for promotion to the district league. The club wanted to be promoted to the district league with him within three years, but failed very narrowly twice and only became "runner-up" in the district league A and thus narrowly missed the desired promotion in each case.
